Reports of Search Rank Death Greatly Exaggerated

No, Matt Cutts didn't say rank was dead. He didn't even come close, but if you want to believe that very much, you might decide that is what he said. Nobody ever explains where by "rank" they mean Google page rank or rank (position) in a list of search results. Cutts seems to have discussed the latter. But trust me, you will need both to get traffic. Without being ranked high, you get no visitors. With no vistors, a conversion of 5% is still no sales, even if it is "better" than 1%.
